Tapkin Privacy Policy
What we collect — nothing
Tapkin has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no servers operated by us. The app contains no analytics or advertising frameworks and no third-party code at all. Nothing you do in Tapkin is transmitted to Vansha LLC. The app's App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected" because that is literally how it is built.
Where your data lives
Everything you create in Tapkin — reminders, notes, custom activities, completion history — is stored on your device. If your device has iCloud enabled, Apple's CloudKit service syncs that data between your own devices through your personal iCloud account, under Apple's privacy terms. Vansha LLC has no access to your iCloud data. Your watch shows reminder names and times sent directly from your phone over Apple's local, encrypted phone-to-watch connection.
Everything is read on your device
Tapkin can read a photographed label so you don't have to type it, and this runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in on-device text recognition. The quick-add box, where you can type a phrase like "pills every morning at 8", is understood by Tapkin's own parser running on your device. No photo, phrase, or reminder is sent to Vansha LLC or to any server by Tapkin.
Camera and label scanning
Tapkin can photograph a pharmacy label, appointment card, bill, or note and read it into a reminder. Photos are processed locally, are not stored by Tapkin after the scan, and never leave your device. If a pharmacy label includes details like a prescription number or the pharmacy's phone number, Tapkin offers to keep them in the reminder's note so you have them at refill time — they are stored like everything else (your device and your own iCloud), they never appear in notifications, and you can edit or delete them at any time.
Important — scanning is not medical advice. The scan feature is a typing convenience: it transcribes what is printed so you don't have to type it, and it never fills in what isn't printed — you choose the reminder times yourself and confirm every scanned line before a reminder is created. It is not a medical device, does not verify doses or interactions, and can misread. Always confirm any medication reminder against the pharmacist's label, and direct medication questions to your pharmacist or doctor. Tapkin shows this notice before first use.
Contacts
If you import birthdays, Tapkin uses Apple's contact picker, which shows you your contacts without giving Tapkin access to your contact list. Only the names and dates you explicitly choose are saved, on your device, as reminders.
Notifications, widgets, and your lock screen
Tapkin sends only the local notifications you schedule — reminders. It never sends marketing, re-engagement, or promotional notifications of any kind. A notification shows the reminder's name but never the note attached to it.
By default, reminder names are visible in notifications and widgets, which means they can be read from a locked phone. Settings → Reminder names → Hide names turns this off everywhere at once: widgets then show only the icon and time, notifications say only the kind of reminder ("Medication"), and the name is never spoken aloud by VoiceOver. Tapkin tells you about this choice when you first set it up.
You can also use iOS's own controls, which hide content while locked and reveal it once you unlock: Settings → Notifications → Show Previews → When Unlocked for notifications, and Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Allow Access When Locked → Lock Screen Widgets (off) for widgets.
Purchases
The optional one-time unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Vansha LLC never receives your payment details.
Support email
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you write. The app's optional support-email template includes a few on-device usage counters (shown in plain text in the draft before you send) that help us help you; sending them is your choice.
Export and deletion
Settings contains a full export of your data in readable form, and a delete-everything option. Both act entirely on your device; there is nothing to delete on our side, because we hold nothing. One detail for completeness: to protect against database corruption, Tapkin keeps one short-term safety copy of its database on your device; it is replaced over time, never leaves your device, and is removed — along with everything else — if you delete the app. If you use iCloud sync, deleting data in the app also removes it from your iCloud copy.
Children
Tapkin is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear at this address with an updated date. Because Tapkin collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
